Boitaca Bridge

The neogothic Boitaca Bridge is composed of six arches and four pavilions in a Romantic style, which were used as homes for the toll workers. The plaque at the site shows that construction began in 1862, during the reign of D. Luís. It lies over the Calvaria River, to the west of Batalha. It was classified as a Building of Public Interest and is included in the monastery’s special protection area.
